CITAP Application

APPLY FOR Certified Information Technology Audit Professional (CITAP)

Certified Information Technology Audit Professional (CITAP) is a reimagined version of the DISA certification by IIBF, designed to align with global IT audit standards.

I. To acquire Certified Information Technology Audit Professional (CITAP) qualification

  1. Firstly, candidates have to complete the following three examinations within a period of two years:

    1. Certificate Exam in IT Security
    2. Certificate Exam in Prevention of Cyber Crimes & Fraud Management
    3. Certified Information System Banker

    Candidates must register individually for the above three examinations which are conducted in Remote Proctored mode. (Kindly visit the Institute’s website www.iibf.org.in for examination details)

  2. The time-period of two years will start from the examination date of the first application for any of the above-mentioned examinations.
  3. After passing all the three of the above-mentioned examinations, candidates will have to first register for CITAP by paying a registration fee of ₹1000 + taxes (applicable to both members and non-members).
  4. Only after this initial registration for CITAP will they become eligible to apply for the CITAP training program.
  5. Candidates need to complete the required training within 6 months of completing all the above-mentioned three certificate examinations.
  6. The dates of the training program will be announced on the website. Candidates who have already registered for CITAP will be required to register for CITAP training by paying the training fees of ₹4,500 + taxes.
  7. In case a candidate fails or is absent in the training program, they can register for the second time by paying a training fee of ₹1000 + taxes.
  8. In case a candidate remains absent or fails in the training in the second attempt also, he/she has to re-register for CITAP training afresh by paying the training fees of ₹4,500 + taxes.

II. For candidates who have already completed DISA certificate

Candidates desirous to acquire the CITAP certificate will be given a time period of two years from the date of announcement of CITAP certificate for completing the training. They will be required to:

  1. First register for CITAP by paying a registration fee of ₹1000 + taxes (applicable to both members and non-members).
  2. Only after this initial registration for CITAP will they become eligible to apply for the CITAP training program.
  3. The dates of the training program will be announced on the website. Candidates who have already registered for CITAP need to register for CITAP training by paying the training fees of ₹4,500 + taxes.
  4. In case a candidate fails or is absent in the training program, they can register for the second time by paying a training fee of ₹1000 + taxes.
  5. In case a candidate remains absent or fails in the training in the second attempt also, he/she has to re-register for CITAP training afresh by paying the training fees of ₹4,500 + taxes.

III. For candidates who have completed one or two of the three certificates

They will be given a time of two years from the date of announcement of CITAP certificate to clear the remaining certificate(s) and complete the process of registration & training for CITAP for acquiring the CITAP certificate.

The registration and training fees and other procedure will remain the same as mentioned in Section I above.

Please note that:
  • Candidates who have already cleared any or all the above three examinations under the old syllabus, i.e. prior to May 2017 are not eligible for CITAP.
  • DISA certificate will be discontinued from the date of announcement of CITAP certificate i.e. 01st August 2025.
