The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), established in 1928, works with the mission:
"To develop professionally qualified and competent bankers and finance professionals through education, training, examination, consultancy, counselling, and continuing professional development."
One of the Institute’s key objectives is to promote research in banking and finance covering operations, products, instruments, and processes — and to encourage innovation and creativity among finance professionals. Launched in 2004–05, Micro Research is an annual essay-style competition for IIBF members. It invites bankers to present their original ideas, insights, and best practices on topics selected by the Institute’s Research Advisory Committee.
