Signing of MOU between IIBF and National
Co-operative Union of India (NCUI) / National Council for Cooperative Training
(NCCT) on Thursday, 29th May 2008.
The Institute has recently developed a distance
learning course exclusively for the Urban Co-operative Banks called 'Advanced
Diploma in Co-operative Banking' to enable them to develop competent personnel
over the years. The Institute has published exclusive courseware for this
course through Macmillan India limited on (i) Principles & Law of
Co-operative Banking (ii) Co-operative Banking Operations, and (iii)
Technology, Risk Management & Regulation of Co-operative Banks.
In order to make available classroom support to
graduates/employees of co-operative banks in various parts of the country, this
MOU is signed with National Co-operative Union of India / National Council for
Co-operative Training, New Delhi for offering classroom support to the
candidates of the course through Regional Institutes of Co-operative Management
situated in various parts of the country.
Mrs. Usha Thorat, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank
of India presided over the MOU signing ceremony held on 29 May 2008 at 10.15 AM
at the Council Room , Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Tower 4,
Arcade, World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. 400 005. While congratulating
both the Institutions for this novel initiative, she observed that this timely
tie up will help the Urban Co-operative Banks to build the competence level of
the people working in that sector . She also expressed a desire that the
Institute should develop an appropriate course for Directors of the
Co-operative Banks.
Shri Bhagawati Prasad, Director General of NCCT
and Shri R Bhaskran CEO, IIBF singed the MOU on behalf of their respective
Institutions. The first exam under the same will be held in December 2008.
