The Central Goods And Services Tax (Extension To Jammu And Kashmir) Act, 2017 & The Integrated Goods And Services Tax (Extension To Jammu And Kashmir) Act, 2017 has received the assent of the President on the 23rd August, 2017. The Act has come into force on the 8th day of July, 2017. CGST ACT,2017 & IGST Act, 2017 and all rules, notifications, schemes and orders made thereunder by the Central Government are hereby extended to, and shall be in force in, the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
GST has been made applicable to Jammu & Kashmir w.e.f 8.7.17. However, the notification was received in the month of August. During this period, GST was not charged to those individuals who had registered for membership, examination, duplicate certificate and mock test, as these registrations were done prior to receiving intimation of the Jammu & Kashmir (GST) notification.
